Accusations Against Imran Khan by Health Minister Laughable and Unfounded, Says Senior Journalist
Senior journalist Shahzeb Khanzada has dismissed the accusations made by Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, stating that three doctors have deemed them "laughable and unfounded."
During a press conference, Patel claimed that a preliminary test report of Khan's urine sample, taken at PIMS hospital during his arrest and detention at the National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) Rawalpindi office, indicated excessive alcohol and cocaine consumption, as well as mental instability, without any mention of a leg fracture.
Discussing the report on Geo News' show 'Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath,' the senior journalist revealed that the report and the health minister's press conference were shared with three doctors, who found Patel's claims to be baseless and laughable.
The doctors noted that urine sample reports are typically shared within a few days, making it surprising that the health minister took 17 days to present the preliminary report.
They further stated that the claims made by Patel could not be supported by the report itself. Contrary to the health minister's statements about Khan's mental instability, the report indicated that Khan's mental health was stable.
While Patel asserted that a panel of senior doctors questioned Khan's mental stability, the report contradicted such claims.
Khanzada highlighted the discrepancy between the statements made during the press conference and the findings in the report. The doctors pointed out that the report clearly stated Khan's medical condition was sound, and any signs of stress and anxiety were normal given his arrest.
Khanzada also found it perplexing that Khan, who was deemed mentally stable enough to be arrested and questioned by NAB, was being labeled as mentally unstable by the health minister.
Although Patel was invited to discuss the report on the show, he declined the offer.
