Tragic Incidents in Sindh: Six Children Drown in Separate Pond Accidents
In two separate incidents in Sindh, at least six children, including two siblings, lost their lives after drowning in ponds. Additionally, two other children were rescued by local residents.
In the first incident, six children were playing near a fish pond in Waris Ujan village near Tando Masti Khan in Khairpur district. It started when one child slipped into the pond. In a brave attempt to save their friend, the remaining five children jumped into the water. Unfortunately, three more children, including two sisters, lost their lives in the process. Local residents managed to rescue two children, who were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The police have recovered the bodies of three children from the pond, while efforts are ongoing to locate the fourth child.
In a similar incident in Rani Vero village near Diplo Town in Tharparkar district, two children were playing near a pond when they accidentally fell into it and drowned. The rescue officials retrieved their bodies and handed them over to their families.
These tragic incidents serve as a reminder of the importance of water safety, especially when children are near bodies of water. Authorities and communities must continue to raise awareness and take necessary precautions to prevent such unfortunate accidents from occurring in the future.
