Private Schools Federation Declares Closure on Pakistan Martyrs Day; Summer Vacation Schedule Announced
The Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF) made an official announcement on Tuesday, stating that all schools under its federation will remain closed on May 25, which marks Pakistan Martyrs Day. The decision was conveyed by Kashif Mirza, President of APPSF, who clarified that despite the closure, board exams will proceed as scheduled. Regular classes will resume on May 26 as per the established timetable.
In addition, Mirza disclosed the summer vacation schedule for schools nationwide. Summer vacations will commence from June 15 and extend until August 14, with schools reopening on August 15. However, he specified that in the province of Sindh, summer vacations will start from June 1 and conclude on July 31.
It was reported earlier today that the federal government intends to actively participate in the commemoration of Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan (Day of Tribute to Pakistan's Martyrs), including planned rallies. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to lead one of these rallies, and there are deliberations within the federal government regarding the possible declaration of a public holiday.
The declaration of Youm-e-Takreem Shuhada-e-Pakistan follows the recent announcement by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, designating May 25 as "Pakistan Martyrs' Day."
