Federal Shariat Court Renders Decision on Transgender Act Petition, Upholding Rights of Transgender Individuals
The Federal Shariat Court has rendered a decision on the petition challenging the Transgender Act, which pertains to the rights of transgender individuals.
Chief Justice Syed Mohammad Anwar and Justice Khadim Hussain of the Federal Shariat Court have issued a judgment, after careful consideration, regarding the petition filed against the Transgender Act, addressing the rights of transgender individuals.
In its ruling, the court articulated that transgender individuals are unable to alter their gender or be categorized as either male or female.
Furthermore, the court emphasized that it is the government's duty to ensure the provision of all rights to transgender individuals, as Islam guarantees the protection of their fundamental human rights.
The petitions lodged against the Transgender Protection Act have been dismissed by the Federal Shariat Court.
